Peter Obi, the presidential aspirant of the Labour Party, has in a press conference on Friday, announced his running mate in view of the 2023 general election.
After Doyin Okupe, the occupant of the position submitted a letter of withdrawal to INEC on Thursday, 7th of July, 2022.
He was replaced by Yusuf Baba-Ahmed, founder of Baze University and economist.
The new occupant born in Kaduna, a candidate from the All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP)has represented Zaria Federal Constituency in 2003 House of Representatives election, served from 2011 to 2012 as Senator for Kaduna North and was an aspirant for the PDP gubernatorial in Kaduna before backing out in May.
After being announced, Baba Ahmed said that he accepted this position because he believed Nigeria was in trouble and needed rescuing.
He also added that Peter Obi was a man of integrity and capacity having achieved so much in the private sector.
