Peoples Democratic Party has sued Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Peter Obi, All Peoples Congress, and Labour Party for replacing Kabiru Masari and Doyin Okupe respectively and the Independent National Electoral Commission for allowing it.
Recall that Kabiru Masari and Doyin Okupe of APC and LP respectively were submitted to the INEC as interim running mates to meet up the June 17 deadline.
After a few weeks, Kashim Shettima of APC and Datti Baba-Ahmed of LP were submitted to replace the running mates respectively after they resigned.
As INEC has given the parties a month to substitute approval of the running mates.
PDP sued them on the ground that the title “placeholder” was not familiar with Nigerian law, therefore, Tinubu and Obi should be disqualified.
Alex Ejesieme, Labour Party lawyer, when asked said he was aware of the suit and was filing his response. But when Ogala was asked, he responded that he was aware but he has not been served yet.
