5 Nigerian celebrities who battled with cancer and won
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Cancer is one of the deadly disease in the world. We have some of our favorite Nigerian celebrities who were diagnosed of cancer but later survived it.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">In case you don&#8217;t know, Cancer is a type of disease in which cells in the body grow uncontrollably and even spread to other parts of the body and the abnormal cells are often called Cancer cells, malignant cells or tumor cells.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Recently, Nollywood actress Doris China was diagnosed with cancer in 2020 but passed away in 2021 after long battle with breast cancer. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace, amen.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Well, we have some of the biggest celebrities who beat cancer and some of them shared their surviving story on their Instagram page.</span></p>
<h4><span style="font-size: 14pt;">1. Wole Soyinka</span></h4>

<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">In 2014, Nobel laureate, Wole Soyinka revealed how he survived prostrate cancer. According to him, he was diagnosed with prostrate cancer in December 2013, but was cured 10 months after.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Cancer is no joke at all. &#8220;Family, friends and colleagues begin to look at you as if you are a ghost just because you have cancer.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">&#8220;No, cancer is not a death sentence, it is curable I have undergone treatment and I am able to tell you that, even I have a medal to show for it,&#8221; Wole Soyinka said.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">&#8220;For those who&#8217;ve been wondering why I have been away for so long. I had my 3rd surgery on a rare strain of skin cancer tumors in my shoulder last month.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">&#8220;The first 2 times were over 10 years age, then it recently resurfaced. But this isn&#8217;t a sad story as much as it is a reminder and a testimony,&#8221; Banky W said.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Well, he is one of the Nigerian celebrities who defeated one of the deadliest disease with one of the highest mortality rate.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">In 2013, the singer was diagnosed with a lymphoma and after several expensive sessions of chemotherapy, he revealed that he was free of the disease.</span></p>
