Nigerians have suggested that singer, Yemi Alade is the next Angelique Kidjo, after she won Best Global music album at the 2022 Grammy award.
Recall that The Daily Page reported that Angelique Kidjo beat Wizkid, Femi Kuti, and others to win the category for her album ‘Mother Nature’.
Nigerians were disappointed that Wizkid lost 2 Nominations at the just concluded 2022 Grammy Awards.
However, some Nigerians still claim that Angeligue Kidjo’s win is still a win for Nigeria as her Grammy award album ‘Mother Nature’ featured Mr. Eazi, Yemi Alade, Sampa the Great, Burna Boy, and Ghetto Boy.
Nigerians have expressed optimism at Yemi Alade becoming the first Nigerian female artist to win Grammy Awards as they compare her sound to that of Angelique.
