Amuneke will add value to Super Eagles’ coaching, Eguavoen says

Augustine Eguavoen, the Super Eagles’ interim Technical Adviser, thinks the selection of former teammate Emmanuel Amuneke to assist him at the senior level is “an excellent development.”

On Wednesday, Eguavoen told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ilorin that Amuneke’s arrival will improve the level of the team’s coaching.

According to NAN, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) made minor changes to the technical staff of the Eagles on Monday.

While Eguavoen will remain as crew chief, Amuneke has been brought to the team, while former national under-20 team coach Paul Aigbogun has been removed.

Amuneke will serve as the CHAN Super Eagles’ Chief Coach and Eguavoen’s First Assistant, with Salisu Yusuf serving as the team’s Second Assistant/Chief Coach.

The Third Assistant is Joseph Yobo, and the Goalkeepers’ Trainer is Aloysius Agu.

“He (Amuneke) is my younger brother, and we have long collaborated. Eguavoen, who guided the Super Eagles to a round of 16 finish at the 33rd Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon, said, “I think his entry into the team would give a lot of value also.”
