Arsenal break all-time premier league record in Leeds thumping

Arsenal, led by Mikel Arteta, beat Leeds 4-1 at Elland Road on Saturday, breaking an all-time Premier League record.

Arsenal dominated the game from the start, with Arteta’s side hitting the target 11 times in the first half.

In doing so, the Gunners set a new Premier League record while scoring three goals in a half.

Gabriel Martinelli gave Arsenal the lead after only 15 minutes, and the Brazilian added a second 12 minutes later.

Bukayo Saka, an England midfielder, added a third shortly before halftime, thereby securing all three points.

Raphinha’s penalty gave Leeds a ray of hope, but it was too little, too late for Marcelo Bielsa’s team.

Emile Smith Rowe then put the game out of reach when he got on the end of Martin Odegaard’s pass and shot past Illan Meslier in the Leeds goal.

After a 3-0 win over Southampton and a 2-0 triumph over David Moyes’ West Ham last time out, Arsenal has now won three in a row.

Arsenal are now firmly in contention for a Champions League place following their three points at Elland Road.

With 32 points from 18 games, the Gunners have moved into fourth place, four points ahead of fifth-placed West Ham.
