Arteta flies to America for talks with Arsenal owner, Stan Kroenke

Mikel Arteta was photographed with Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke after the Spaniard flew to America with only a few days left in the transfer window.

On Monday night in Denver, Colorado, Arteta, and Kroenke were seen together at a hockey game, when the Colorado Avalanche defeated the Chicago Blackhawks.

Although the reason for Arteta’s trip has not been revealed, given the close proximity of the transfer deadline, it’s likely that he traveled to meet with Kroenke to discuss spending plans.

Despite being the Premier League’s biggest spenders last summer, the Gunners have yet to open their wallets this month.

Despite that large outlay, the Arsenal hierarchy is willing to provide Arteta with additional funds this month in order to help him bring the Champions League to Arsenal.

The Gunners have been chasing a big-money move for Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic for the better part of the month.

After scoring 17 goals in just 21 league games this season, the Serbian sensation is one of the most sought-after players in the world.

But despite stumping up a £59million fee that Fiorentina have reportedly requested for their star man, Vlahovic is seemingly on the verge of securing a switch to Juventus instead
