<h4><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">As a result of negotiations still underway&comma; the Academic Staff Union of Universities&comma; ASUU&comma; has postponed its decision to strike&period;<&sol;span><&sol;h4>&NewLine;<div id&equals;"attachment&lowbar;15820" style&equals;"width&colon; 722px" class&equals;"wp-caption aligncenter"><img aria-describedby&equals;"caption-attachment-15820" class&equals;"wp-image-15820 size-full" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;thedailypage&period;ng&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2021&sol;12&sol;Screenshot&lowbar;20211220-135444&period;jpg" alt&equals;"ASUU postpones strike" width&equals;"712" height&equals;"497" &sol;><p id&equals;"caption-attachment-15820" class&equals;"wp-caption-text">ASUU postpones strike<&sol;p><&sol;div>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">Last Thursday&comma; the union issued a new three-week warning&comma; accusing the federal government of coercion and propaganda&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">ASUU made the comment while accusing the Federal Government of abandoning efforts to study the draft 2009 FGN-ASUU Agreement&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">ASUU committed to continue fighting for the welfare of professors in a statement headlined &&num;8216&semi;Enough of Blackmail&comma;&&num;8217&semi; signed by its president&comma; Prof Emmanuel Osodeke&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">The ASUU stated once more that the Federal Government had failed to address all of the points addressed in the 2009 accord&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">ASUU committed to continue fighting for the welfare of professors in a statement headlined &&num;8216&semi;Enough of Blackmail&comma;&&num;8217&semi; signed by its president&comma; Prof Emmanuel Osodeke&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">The ASUU stated once more that the Federal Government had failed to address all of the points addressed in the 2009 accord&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">The statement read in part that NEC was concerned by the spirited efforts of government agents to reduce ASUU&&num;8217&semi;s demands to a regime of intermittent payment of watered-down revitalisation cash and release of distorted and highly devalued Earned Academic Allowances&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">ASUU will not halt in its efforts to improve our members&&num;8217&semi; welfare and working circumstances&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">However&comma; we will fight any attempt by state propaganda based on tokenism and crumb-sharing to blackmail the union and derail our patriotic campaign for a constructive university system&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">However&comma; in light of the ongoing intervention and consultation efforts&comma; the NEC decided to revisit the situation at a later date with a view to know the next action&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;
