An Osun state high court sitting in Osogbo has ordered the Osun state police command to pay, a whopping sum of 6 million naira as compensation for violating the fundamental human rights of two applicants. The two applicants are Yusuf Adepoju and Muddathir Kewudirorun. In the judgement, which was handed down by Justice A. The Nigerian Army, on Wednesday, refuted a report alleging that some serving officers are planning to storm Abuja, to protest unpaid emoluments and poor working conditions. The Federal Government on Thursday cancelled it’s decision to suspend Nigeria’s basketball team from all international basketball competitions. Permanent secretary, Ministry of Youth and sports development, Ismaila Abubakar, made this known during a conference in Abuja on Thursday. Judge of the Criminal court 1 in Benin City, Edo state, Justice Efe Ikponmwonba, has sentenced Dominion Okoro, the housemaid of late Madam Maria Igbinedion, mother of Ex-Governor of Edo state, Lucky Igbinedion, to death by hanging.
