BET Awards: ‘Anybody can inspire you’, Davido tells Tems after she thanked only female artistes for inspiring her

Nigerian singer, Davido has taken to social media to celebrate his colleague in the music industry, Tems after she won two BET Awards.

The Omo Baba Olowo crooner took to his Instagram page where he informed Tems that anyone in the music industry can inspire her.

Celebrating Tems’ win, Davido wrote on his Instagram page story, “Anybody can inspire you, congrats girl.”

The Daily Page recalls that Tems won Best International Act for BET awards, while Wizkid won Best Collaboration for “Essence” featuring Tems and Justin Bieber.

Earlier today, the singer Tems thanked Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Simi and other female artistes for inspiring her and paving the way for her.

According to her, they contributed to her success in the music industry, even winning the BET Awards.

Tems tweeted on Tuesday, “I’m taking today to appreciate all the sisters today. Thank you for existing, thank you for deciding to get up and do something because someone saw that and became inspired by it. @Asa_official @Omawumi @TiwaSavage @yemialadee @OfficialWaje @SympLySimi @OfficialNiniola.”

She also named rising stars like herself, and promised they were all going to shake the music industry “like a Tsunami.”

“@amaarae @Gyakie_ @ayrastarr @faveszn @TeniEntertainer, when I see anyone of you gracing a stage, I feel like that’s me. We’re all winning and we’re about to move in like a Tsunami. So before it starts, know that love lives on this side, as we show the world how it’s done.

“And if I missed any messages, it is definitely unintentional. I don’t take your kind words and support for granted. I’m sending you all love today because you DESERVE it. Love always,” she wrote.

Davido says he is Igbo by tribe

David Adeleke, the Afrobeats performer known as Davido, said he is Igbo by blood. The singer shot back at someone who warned him about being friendly with Igbo people, saying he could worry about betrayal as a Yoruba man.

The X user, Yakbel, said: “Davido just dey carry Ibo full body, until when dem betray am before e rest. Yoruba boy dey frolick with Ibos in 2025, they want your head and everything you have to belong to them. You can never satisfy Ibos. Ibos are not people you surround yourself with as a Yoruba man.”

Davido overlooked the criticism and just replied:
“Lol. My ancestors are from the Igbo people.”

Nigerian online streamer, Habeeb Hamzat popularly known as Peller has revealed he convinced his girlfriend, Jarvis, to turn down a ₦3 billion offer from Netflix since it required her to kiss someone during the show.

Peller mentioned this during a livestream with Peter Okoye from P-Square.

Peller said, “Netflix offered 3 billion Naira my girlfriend, Jarvis to do a kissing scene, but I turned it down.”

Peter asked, “Do you mean N3 million or N3 billion?”

Peller replied, “N3 billion! I know you might not believe me, but I have the record of the video call. I warned them never to contemplate such ever again. I love my baby. I don’t joke with my baby. She is my life.”

Peter added, “Always look out for her.”
