Biodun Oyebanji, the Secretary to the Ekiti State Government, has resigned, just as he announced his intention to run for governor in the state’s upcoming election.
Yinka Oyebode, the Governor of Ekiti State’s Chief Press Secretary, made the announcement on Friday in a statement headed “Ekiti SSG Oyebanji Resigns From Cabinet.
Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has accepted the resignation of Hon Biodun Oyebanji, Secretary to the State Government, from his cabinet, the statement read.
The resignation, which was communicated to the Governor in a letter dated December 3, 2021, will take effect on Tuesday, December 7th.
Oyebanji’s departure as Secretary to the State Government was based on his desire to run for governor in the state’s upcoming election.
In accepting Oyebanji’s resignation, Governor Fayemi commended him for his outstanding contributions to the administration from its beginning in 2018 and wished him well in his future endeavors.
