Kaduna State High Court has on Wednesday acquitted and freed the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and his wife, Zeenat Ibrahim.
Sheikh Ibrahim and his wife, Zeenat had been standing trial on eight counts bordering on alleged culpable homicide, disruption of public peace, among others in the court for the past four years.
However, the defendants had pleaded not guilty to the charges alleged against them.
In a judgement delivered on Wednesday, Justice Kurada said the defendants have no case to answer.
