Britain supports Nigeria’s fight against deforestation
<h4><span style="font-size: 14pt; color: var(--c-contrast-800);">The British government has declared to support Nigeria in her fight against deforestation and other activities in the agricultural sector in the country.</span></h4>

<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">This was made known to the public by the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Catriona Laing, <span style="color: var(--c-contrast-800);"> during a familiarization visit to Okomu Oil Palm Company Plc in Edo State&#8217;s Ovia South-West Local Government Area.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">She stated <span style="color: var(--c-contrast-800);">that the British government is assisting the Nigerian government in developing sustainable land principles to make agriculture viable.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt; color: var(--c-contrast-800);">While noting that the British government has been providing financing to develop the forest and agricultural for the past five years.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="color: var(--c-contrast-800);">The British government also pledged to help small farmers and small</span><span style="color: var(--c-contrast-800);"> enterprises in the agricultural industry.</span></span></p>
