Buhari endorses plan to stop fuel scarcity
<h4><span style="font-size: 14pt;">President Muhammadu Buhari has endorsed a plan to end the country&#8217;s fuel scarcity once and for all.</span></h4>

<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The official, who made the announcement on Sunday, March 13th, 2022, in Abuja, stated that the plan would ensure that the occurrence of fuel scarcity does not occur again.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">He predicted that in a matter of days, virtually every state in the country would have returned to a very low queue situation at filling stations, if not complete normalcy.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">According to the source, the plan, which was presented to the Federal Executive Council last week, was approved by the president before he left the country last Sunday, March 6th, 2022. The plan had specific goals, including determining the root cause of the scarcity and imposing appropriate consequences.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The plan is designed to do everything possible to end the scarcity quickly and hold those responsible in the first instance accountable in order to avoid a repeat, he has said.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that what used to be a recurring decimal of fuel scarcity had been reduced to the barest minimum by the Buhari administration until the recent case of adulterated petrol.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The plan devised by NNPC executives, on the other hand, received the president&#8217;s approval and the praise of Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, particularly because of the 24-hour operations.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">According to NAN, 24-hour sales in major supply centers across the country, as well as 24-hour continuous loading at all depots, are being personally coordinated by NNPC Group Managing Director, Mr. Mele Kyari, with the active participation of the Director-General of the DSS, Alhaji Yusuf Bichi. <p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">According to the source, the country had over one billion litres of petrol stock by the end of the previous week, which equated to about a month&#8217;s sufficiency based on the 60 million litres per day evacuation.</span></p>
