    Buhari receives South Africa’s President in Aso Rock

    The Nigeria president, Muhammadu Buhari receives the South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa, at Aso Rock, the presidential villa, Abuja, today.

    Buhari receives South Africa's President

    This is coming hours after the Nigeria Center for Disease control announced the emergence of the new Omicron COVID 19 variant in Nigeria.

    The new variant which surfaced in Botswana, South Africa has quickly spread to become a global concern.

    The NCDC confirmed in a statement released earlier today that the new variant was discovered among travellers from South Africa who arrived in Nigeria last week.

    The Punch newspaper reported that President Muhammad received president Cyril Ragamosa as he arrived Abuja at about 10 am on Wednesday and was treated to a 21-gun salute by guards of honor.
