CAF fine Egypt ahead of AFCON semi-final

<h4><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">The Egyptian Football Federation was fined &dollar;100&comma;000 by the Confederation of African Football&&num;8217&semi;s &lpar;CAF&rpar; Disciplinary Board for neglecting to hold a pre-match news conference ahead of their quarter-final encounter against Morocco last weekend&period;<&sol;span><&sol;h4>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">This was revealed in a statement posted on the CAF website&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><img class&equals;"alignnone size-medium wp-image-18600" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;thedailypage&period;ng&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2022&sol;02&sol;FotoJet-2022-02-02T015703&period;307-300x158&period;jpg" alt&equals;"CAF fine Egypt ahead of AFCON semi-final" width&equals;"300" height&equals;"158" &sol;><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">It comes before the Pharaohs&&num;8217&semi; 2021 Africa Cup of Nations semi-final match against hosts Cameroon&comma; which is set to take place on Thursday&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">The Egypt Football Association &lpar;EFA&rpar; has been fined &dollar;100&comma;000 USD by the CAF Disciplinary Board&comma; with 50&comma;000 USD suspended&comma; for violating CAF TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Cameroon 2021 media norms and guidelines&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">According to CAF&comma; this comes after the Egyptian Football Association &lpar;EFA&rpar; failed to hold a media press conference on January 29&comma; 2022&comma; ahead of their match against Morocco in the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinals at Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium&comma; as required by all participating teams&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">The statement also noted that Egypt FA has 60 days to pay the 50&comma;000 USD fine&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">Egypt defeated Tunisia 2-1 in the quarter-finals after coming back from a goal down&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;
