“So now the (Chinese) central government has decided to send a high-level group of criminal investigation experts with real expertise,” said Cui Jianchun, the Chinese ambassador to Nigeria.

“They come to Nigeria and talk to the people and the government about how they can work together to tackle the difficulty they are facing.”

Mr. Jianchun made the announcement on Wednesday, December 15, in Abuja, while interacting with journalists on the sidelines of the China-Nigeria friendship award ceremony for Ahmadu Bello University Zaria students on October 1.

The security professionals would arrive in Nigeria soon, according to the Chinese embassy.

Mr Jianchun continued: “The Chinese central government is deeply concerned about the security situation in Nigeria, as well as the Chinese nationals living there. We’re working hard to figure out how to get China’s help.

“I feel it truly concerns every Nigerian, and I believe it is not only about the Nigerian people and government, but we also require international assistance.”

The vice-chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, Kabiru Bala, thanked the Chinese government for its assistance.
