Defence forces kills 1910 terrorists, others in the last six months

<h4><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The Defence Headquarter has revealed that forces in various operations across the country killed 1910 terrorists, and kidnappers, among others, between May 20, 2021 and January 6, 2022.</span></h4>

<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">This was made known to the public by acting Director, Defence Media Operations, Major Gen. Bernard Onyeuko during <span style="color: var(--c-contrast-800);">a briefing in Abuja on Thursday.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: var(--c-contrast-800); font-size: 14pt;">He also stated that a total of 912 criminal elements were detained, and that troops discovered a significant stockpile of weaponry and ammunition, among other things, during the period.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Onyeuko added that from 20th May 2021 to 6th January 2022, the Armed Forces of Nigeria neutralized 1,910 criminal elements across the country, including terrorists, armed bandits, robbers, and kidnappers.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">This is in addition to the hundreds of other terrorists and armed bandits killed in airstrikes over the same time period. In addition, troops rescued 729 kidnapped people around the country. Furthermore, during the time frame under consideration.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">In addition, 912 criminal elements were apprehended, while troops discovered a substantial cache of weaponry and ammunition, livestock, and other items of economic and security relevance during the period.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">According to Onyeuko, troops recovered a total of 13,201,300 litres of illegally processed Automotive Gas Oil and 3,969,000 gallons of Dual Purpose Kerosene.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">He also stated that about 38,582 barrels and 6,491,000 litres of stolen crude oil, as well as 11,659,500 litres of illegally processed Premium Motor Spirit, were found and turned over to authorities.</span></p>
