The Department of State Services (DSS) has on Thursday, July 1, confirmed that a team of joint security operatives raided the home of Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Igboho, in Ibadan.
According to the security agency, 13 of his armed men, consist of 12 males and 1 female were arrested while one sustained injury. Items recovered include, charm, seven AK-47 assault rifles, 3 Pump Action Guns, 30 fully charged AK-47 magazines, 5, 000 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, 5 cutlasses, 1 Jackknife and passports.
Speaking at a briefing on Thursday night, Dr. Peter Afunanya, who is DSS spoke person, said the raid was based on intelligence report that Sunday Igboho was stockpiling arms.
It was learnt that Sunday Igboho escaped when his armed body guards engaged in a gun duel with DSS operatives.
Afunanya has now declared Sunday Igboho wanted, adding that the long arm of the law will still reach Igboho. He urged the agitator to turn himself in or be tracked down.
