EFCC arrests former Governor of Kwara state, Abdulfatah Ahmed over alleged diversion of N9bn

<p dir="ltr">The operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has reportedly arrested the former Kwara state governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed for allegedly diverting N9 billion, Channel Television reports.</p>

<p dir="ltr">It was gathered that the Anti graft agency invited the former governor for questioning at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja</p>

<p dir="ltr">The publication revealed that Abdulfatah Ahmed arrived the EFCC headquarters at about 10 am on Monday, and was interrogated by the Anti graft agency for about seven hours.</p>

<p dir="ltr">Confirming his arrest, a source told Channels that Abdulfatah Ahmed was arrested in connection with how funds to the tune of about N9 billion were allegedly diverted from the state&#8217;s government account during his tenure as governor of the state.</p>
<p dir="ltr">He also served as the Commissioner for Finance in the administration of former Governor Bukola Saraki.</p>
