FG declares bandits as terrorists, issues gazette
<h4><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The Federal Government has formally declared bandits as terrorists in Nigeria.</span></h4>

<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">This was made known in a Gazette titled ‘Terrorism (Prevention) Proscribition Order Notice, 2021, signed by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN).</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">According to the gazette, the bandits will face trial under the Terrorism (Prevention) Act 2011.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">In the gazette, the Nigerian government warned its citizens not to participate in any manner whatsoever in any form of activities involving the proscribed group.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">This is coming a few weeks after Justice Taiwo Taiwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja declared bandits as terrorists.</span></p>
