Hugo, Diego Maradona’s brother dies 52
<h4><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Hugo Maradona, Diego Maradona&#8217;s younger brother, died in Naples on Tuesday at the age of 52, exactly a year after the Argentine football star went away, according to Italian football club Napoli.</span></h4>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Napoli announced on their website, confirming rumours in the Italian press that the former footballer had died of a heart attack.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The players and Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis &#8220;come together around Maradona&#8217;s family and unite with them in the agony of Hugo&#8217;s loss,&#8221; according to the club.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Hugo Maradona was an Argentine youth international midfielder who played in Italy, Austria, Spain, Argentina, and Japan before settling in Italy permanently and briefly managing amateur clubs in Naples.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Maradona, who had three children, recently ran for mayor of Buenos Aires on a right-wing list, which was defeated by the left.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Hugo Maradona joined Diego Maradona at Napoli in 1987 before being loaned to Ascoli.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The two brothers played against each other on September 20 of that year, with Diego&#8217;s Napoli coming out on top 2-1.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Diego Maradona, widely regarded as one of the all-time great footballers, died in November 2020 at the age of 60.</span></p>
