Imo state police arrest former Governor, Rochas Okorocha

<p><img class&equals;"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3831" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;thedailypage&period;ng&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2021&sol;02&sol;6032a56930322&period;jpeg" alt&equals;"" width&equals;"960" height&equals;"540" &sol;><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"color&colon; &num;0000ff&semi;"><strong>By Temi Joshua<&sol;strong><&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Operatives of Imo state police command has arrested the immediate past governor of Imo state&comma; Senator Rochas Okorocha&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>He was arrested by the police after he led a team of his supporters to reopen the Royal Palm Estate sealed by the state Government&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The Daily Page recalls state government had last Friday&comma; February 19&comma; recovered the Royal Palm Estate along Akachi road&comma; belonging to Okorocha&&num;8217&semi;s wife&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>His wife&&num;8217&semi;s property was seized&comma; according to the team led by Commissioner for Lands&comma; Enyinnaya Onuegbu&comma; in compliance with the directive of the Imo State gazette on the report of the Judicial Commission of Enquiry on the recovery of Lands and other related matters&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>However&comma; Okorocha alongside his son-in-law&comma; Uche Nwosu&comma; broke the keys used to seal the hotel which belongs to his wife&comma; Nkechi&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>For this reason&comma; Police apprehended him and is currently being detained at the state police headquarters&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Confirming his arrest&comma; the state Police Command spokesman&comma; Orlando Ikeokwu told a journalist in the state capital via chat that the command invited Okorocha to explain why he caused the damages&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;The command received a distress call regarding what we termed to be an unrest at Royal Spring palm estate&comma; and the operatives moved to the place we discovered Okorocha led some persons to the place hitherto sealed by the Imo government&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;The command calmed the situation and invited Okorocha&comma; to come and explain why he led the violent breaking into the estate that led to damages&comma;&&num;8221&semi; Orlando said&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
