JUST IN: Prof. Adebola Ekanola emerges UI’s acting VC

<div id&equals;"attachment&lowbar;506" style&equals;"width&colon; 1034px" class&equals;"wp-caption aligncenter"><img aria-describedby&equals;"caption-attachment-506" class&equals;"wp-image-506 size-full" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;thedailypage&period;ng&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2020&sol;12&sol;Adebola-Babatunde-Ekanola-1024x978-1&period;jpg" alt&equals;"" width&equals;"1024" height&equals;"978" &sol;><p id&equals;"caption-attachment-506" class&equals;"wp-caption-text">Prof&period; Adebola Ekanola&comma; &lpar;Photo credit&colon; Myschool&period;ng&rpar;<&sol;p><&sol;div>&NewLine;<p>The Senate Committee of the University of Ibadan &lpar;UI&rpar; has on Monday&comma; November 30&comma; appointed Prof&period; Adebola Ekanola as the Acting Vice Chancellor&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The Daily Page learnt that Ekanola&comma; who is the current Deputy Vice chancellor &lpar;Academic&rpar;&comma;scored 275 votes to defeat four other rivals to secure the job&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>While the Deputy Vice chancellor &lpar;Research&comma; Innovation and Partnerships&rpar;&comma; Prof&period; Olanike Adeyemo&comma; polled 13 votes&comma; Prof&period; Adigun Agbaje polled 15 votes&comma; Prof&period; Ayo Oluleye polled 80 votes and Prof&period; Gbemisola Oke polled 14 votes&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Prof Adebola Ekanola who was born on December 2nd&comma; 1969&comma; had his primary education at the polytechnic Ibadan primary school between 1973 and 1980&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>He went to Obafemi Awolowo University&comma; Ile-Ife to study philosophy between 1987-1991 Where he graduated with first class honours&comma; BSc philosophy&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>After his Youth service&comma; he obtained  his M&period;A in philosophy from University of Ibadan in 1996 and subsequently&comma; PhD in 2003&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>He is now happily married to Mrs Yetunde Aderemi Ekanola and blessed with 4 wonderful children&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
