Kano State bans movies showing kidnapping, drug addiction
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt">The Kano Film Censorship Board has banned showing or selling of movies that display kidnappings, drug use and addiction and also the stealing of phones in the state.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt">This was made known to the public by Ismaila Naaba Afakallah, the Board Executive Secretary, explaining that the prohibition was necessary because the above mentioned issues were becoming infamous among the citizens.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt">He added that not everyone is able to fathom the fictitiousness of movies and therefore mistaking it for reality.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt">He said:</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt">&#8221; Henceforth we will not allow films displaying kidnappings, drug addiction and GSM phone snatching which has now taken toll on Kano residents&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt">&#8221; Not every young man has the tenacity of understanding fictitious films&#8217; actions. Somebody may mistake it as a reality and may go ahead to practice it, therefore, we must act now before it is too late&#8221; he added.</span></p>
