Korra Obidi appreciates Sara for teaching her belly dance
<h4><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Popular Nigerian model and dancer, Korra Obidi has taken to social media to celebrate her instructor, Sara Lyn for teaching her belly dance.</span></h4>

<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The 27 years old dancer took to her Instagram page where she shared a video of her dancing with her belly while being 8 months pregnant.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">&#8220;Thank you @saralyn_vimana. Belly dance is safe is your baby. @athenadean_ is moving around in her amniotic fluid. Enjoying the waves,&#8221; she captioned the video.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Korra Obidi is well known for not letting even pregnancy stop her from dancing energetically. In one of her recent post on Instagram, Korra wrote, &#8220;<span style="color: var(--c-contrast-800);">Dance to the rhythm of your heart. Just because you are pregnant doesn’t mean you should stop doing what you love.</span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">In an <a href="https://punchng.com/im-far-more-than-a-belly-dancer-korra/">exclusive interview with Punch Newspaper</a>, Korra explained that she learnt Belly dance. She told the publication, &#8220;I specifically chose belly dance because I find it easier to express emotions through the dance. But belly dance is only one of the styles that I was trained to do. I am so much more than a belly dancer. I also had extensive training in some other styles.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">In case you don&#8217;t know, Belly dance originated from Egypt and it is a torso-driven dance, with an emphasis on articulations of the hips.</span></p>
<h4><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Is Belly dance safe for pregnant women?</span></h4>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">According to Wikipedia, Belly dancing is a low-impact, weight-bearing exercise and is thus suitable for all ages and levels of fitness.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Many of the moves involve isolations, which improves the flexibility of the torso. The dance moves are beneficial to the spine, as the full-body undulation moves lengthen (decompress) and strengthen the entire column of spinal and abdominal muscles in a gentle way.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The beauty of <span style="color: var(--c-contrast-800);">Belly dancing is that it</span><span style="color: var(--c-contrast-800);"> improves the abdominal control and awareness needed during pregnancy, childbirth, and in the postpartum recovery period.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">It also helps to reduce stress and anxiety during pregnancy.</span></p>
