Lagos nurses to begin strike January 10

<h4><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">The Lagos State chapter of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives&comma; Lagos Nurses announced on Friday that a three-day warning strike will begin on Monday&period;<&sol;span><&sol;h4>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;"><img class&equals;"aligncenter wp-image-16766 size-full" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;thedailypage&period;ng&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2021&sol;12&sol;Screenshot&lowbar;20211231-181138&period;jpg" alt&equals;"Lagos nurses to begin strike January 10" width&equals;"645" height&equals;"378" &sol;><&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">In a statement&comma; the union&&num;8217&semi;s state secretary&comma; Oloruntoba Odumosu&comma; said the strike was required to pressure the Lagos State Government to act quickly on its demands&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">At its meeting on December 29&comma; 2021&comma; the association&&num;8217&semi;s State Executive Council voted to go on a three-day warning strike beginning at 8&colon;00 a&period;m&period; on Monday&comma; January 10&comma; 2022&comma; and ending at 8&colon;00 p&period;m&period; on Wednesday&comma; January 12&comma; 2022&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">The purpose of this warning strike is to compel the Lagos State Government to act immediately on the following issues&colon;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">Critical scarcity of nurses and midwives in health facilities&semi; payment of retention allowance&semi; proper consolidation of the CONHESS salary structure&semi; regularization of graduate nurses and stagnated nurses&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">Other issues include improved welfare and working conditions of nurses&semi; improved hazard allowance&semi; nurses representation on relevant boards and policymaking&semi; and life insurance scheme for nurses and other health workers&comma; the statement read in part&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">Odumosu went on to say that the strike would be total and all-encompassing&comma; with the exception of Federal Health Institutions in the state&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;
