Late Sylvester: We promise you justice – Tonto Dikeh
<h4><span style="font-size: 14pt; color: var(--c-contrast-800);">Popular Nigerian actress, Tonto Dikeh amid other celebrities has promised justice to Sylvester Oromoni, a late student of Dowen College, Lagos, who allegedly died due to bullying and battering by his classmates.</span></h4>

<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Various Nigerian celebrities like Adesua Etomi-Wellington, Kate Henshaw, Dr. Dipo Awojide, etc are trending the hashtag #justiceforsylvester on Instagram to agitate against the death of Sylvester who according to his parents, he supposed to clock twelve years today.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Tonto Dikeh <a href="https://www.instagram.com/reel/CXDQ4y0IAZc/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link">wrote on an Instagram story</a> that “I woke up with so much pain. How do you lose a child in a safe zone and whose birthday is today?.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">She continued, &#8220;<span style="color: var(--c-contrast-800);">Sending love and light to Master Sylvester’s family and loved ones. Happy birthday young champ, we promise you justice. #justiceforslyvester.”</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">She called out the school authority for lying and being unaware of the affairs of their students, she also noted that a child that was placed under their care had died.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">She went further to appeal to people to drop flowers and gifts at the entrance of Dowen college in celebration of the birthday of the deceased boy.</span></p>
<h4><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Background story surrounding Sylvester&#8217;s death</span></h4>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">On Tuesday, December 2nd, a Twitter user simply identified as @perrisonoromoni laid claims on Twitter that his young cousin, Sylvester Oromoni was beaten to death by fellow students for refusing to join a cult group and his school(Dowen College) where the fee is up to 1 million nairas.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The management of Dowen college, however, refuted the claims in a statement on Wednesday, they claimed that Oromoni was only admitted to the sickbay for hip pains due to a football injury and was treated by the school doctor.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">However, photos and video evidence that supports the claims that Sylvester was battered and that the treatment led to his death surfaced on Twitter through @perrisonoromoni.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Following the viral reports of a Dowen College student being tortured for refusing to join the court, the <span style="color: var(--c-contrast-800);">Lagos State government ordered the indefinite closure of Dowen college.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Cries for justice and sympathy is rolling out on social media from citizens and celebrities and the hashtag #justiceforsylvester has since been trending.</span></p>
