In honour of the Nigerian music icon, Legendary singer, 2Baba Idibia has officially declared July 11, as “Sound Sultan Day”.
Every year on July 11, which is the date late Sound Sultan passed on, fans from within Nigeria and around the world remember his music and legacy.
Announcing the day on his Instagram page, 2baba wrote, “That smile !!!!!!

Sound Sultan, whose full name is Olanrewaju Abdul-Ganiu Fasasi, died in July 11 and was regarded as one of the pacesetters of modern hip hop music in Nigeria.
Before his demise, Late Sound Sultan was notable for using his music to speak against poverty, corruption, bad governance and societal ills in Nigeria
