Manchester United has struggled this season, and they are presently fifth in the Premier League rankings following a poor 1-1 draw against Burnley on Tuesday night.

“I believe it’s going to be tough if I’m being honest,” Wayne Rooney said when asked if United will qualify for the Champions League this season.

He noted that they have the players, and they’ve had some excellent recently, but their performances haven’t been outstanding, and that needs to change.

The Red Devils legend said the players need to show their character, show they’re all in it together and battling for that club – because there have been games he has witnessed where that has been called into question.

“If things keep going the way they are, I don’t think United will finish in the top four.”

Wayne Rooney said that, without the presence of coaches and personnel, meaningful discussion among the players is required.

“Tottenham, I think they might slip in there, they’ve got a very excellent manager,” Rooney remarked when asked who he thinks would finish fourth, with Spurs, Arsenal, and West Ham all close.
