Nigerian university workers begin strike Feb 5

<p><img class&equals;"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2527" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;thedailypage&period;ng&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2021&sol;01&sol;images-2021-01-22T195839&period;060&period;jpeg" alt&equals;"" width&equals;"739" height&equals;"415" &sol;><&sol;p>&NewLine;<h3><span style&equals;"color&colon; &num;0000ff&semi;"><em>By Oyindamola Ruth<&sol;em><&sol;span><&sol;h3>&NewLine;<p>Non-teaching staff in Nigerian public universities will commence a nationwide strike from February 15&comma; 2021 over the Federal Government’s handling of the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System&lpar;IPPIS&rpar;&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The workers are also against the sharing formula of the N40 billion earned academic allowances and non-payment of arrears of the new minimum wage&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>JAC affiliate unions are the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities &lpar;SSANU&rpar; and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions &lpar;NASU&rpar; had last week held a three-day demostration over the government’s failure to respect the Memorandum of Understanding &lpar;MoU&rpar; signed with them on October 20&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
