NMA, ASUU are not recognized labour unions – FG

<h4><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">Dr&period; Folashade Yemi-Esan&comma; the Federation&&num;8217&semi;s Civil Service Head&comma; stated on Monday that NMA&comma; ASUU as well as their affiliates&comma; were not recognized labor unions in the public sector&period;<&sol;span><&sol;h4>&NewLine;<p><img class&equals;"aligncenter size-full wp-image-17827" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;thedailypage&period;ng&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2022&sol;01&sol;Folashade-Yemi-Esan&period;jpeg" alt&equals;"" width&equals;"1000" height&equals;"662" &sol;><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">She added that the Federal Government was thinking about establishing two new councils in the education and health sectors&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">Yemi-Esan said this during the opening of the separate and joint meetings of the national public service negotiating councils&comma; which were attended by Dr&period; Chris Ngige&comma; Minister of Labour and Employment&comma; and Ayuba Wabba&comma; National President of the Nigeria Labour Congress&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">According to the HOS&comma; she said that maintaining industrial harmony in any sector of a country&&num;8217&semi;s economy&comma; including the public sector&comma; is strategic and critical to national development&period; This is because meaningful development cannot occur in any country where the grievances of workers&comma; who are the engines of development&comma; are ignored&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">In line with the principle and practice of collective bargaining&comma; the government has had to engage organized labor unions in constant dialogue&comma; particularly in recent times&period; Thus&comma; it is delightful to note that such effort was not in vain&comma; as evidenced by the country&&num;8217&semi;s evidently harmonious industrial atmosphere&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;
