Nigerian singer, Adekunle Temitope, popularly known as Small Doctor has declared that street is everywhere, adding that there are now Area Boys in Dubai.
He disclosed this via his Instagram page story on Monday, September 6th, 2021, as he shared video of him running into Area boys in Dubai.
“Street is present everywhere,” Small Doctor captioned the video which means Area Boys in Dubai. Watch the video below:
Who are the Area Boys?
Area Boys, according to Wikipedia, are also known as Agberos) which means a group of gansgs of street children, youths, composed mainly of the gender, males.
The Area Boys usually operate on the streets of major cities in Nigeria, including Lagos, Ibadan, Enugu, Akure, Aba and others.
Their major function in the street is to extort money from passers-by, public transporters and traders, sell illegal drugs, act as informal security guards, and perform other “odd jobs” in return for compensation.
According to Nowheremag, area boys began in the 1980s as bands of bullies (boys and girls) who roamed the central business district of Lagos and became more popular after unemployment swelled in the country.
Now, Small Doctors says Area boy is now in Dubai, one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations.
