Street is everywhere – Singer Small Doctor says as he ran into ‘area boys’ in Dubai
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Nigerian singer, Adekunle Temitope, popularly known as Small Doctor has declared that <a href="https://thedailypage.ng/do-something-about-the-kids-on-the-streets-who-wash-peoples-cars-reality-tv-star-alex-unusual-tells-lagos-govt/">street</a> is everywhere, adding that there are now Area Boys in Dubai.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">He disclosed this via his Instagram page story on Monday, September 6th, 2021, as he shared video of him running into Area boys in Dubai.</span></p>

<h4><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Who are the Area Boys?</span></strong></h4>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Area Boys, according to Wikipedia, are also known as <i>Agberos) which means a group of gansgs of street children, youths, composed mainly of the gender, males.</i></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The Area Boys usually operate on the streets of major cities in Nigeria, including Lagos, Ibadan, Enugu, Akure, Aba and others.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Their major function in the street is to extort money from passers-by, public transporters and traders, sell illegal drugs, act as informal security guards, and perform other &#8220;odd jobs&#8221; in return for compensation.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">According to <a href="https://nowheremag.com/"><em>Nowheremag</em></a>, area boys began in the 1980s as bands of bullies (boys and girls) who roamed the central business district of Lagos and became more popular after unemployment swelled in the country.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Now, Small Doctors says Area boy is now in Dubai, one of the world&#8217;s most popular tourist destinations.</span></p>
