Super Eagles crash out of AFCON after Tunisia defeat

<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Tunisia qualified for the second round as one of four best third-place finishers from Group E, while Nigeria topped Group D with nine points in the first round.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Coach Augustine Eguavoen picked his favored starting lineup against the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia, and the Super Eagles got off to a fast start. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The Super Eagles were the only team in Group D to qualify with a maximum of nine points from the group stage, defeating all of the other teams. The Eagles, on the other hand, were unable to advance past the round of 16.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Both teams were scoreless at the halftime break. Until Youssef Msakni scores the game-winning goal a few minutes into the second half, which knocked the Super Eagles out of the competition.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Tunisia strolled into the quarter-finals of the tournament when Alex Iwobi was issued a red card in the 66th minute, depleting the Eagles.</span></p>
