UNESCO expresses worry over feminine gender violence

<h4><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">The Nigerian National Commission for UNESCO has expressed worry over statistics showing that violence against women in Nigeria has increased intermittently to 297 percent since the COVID-19 outbreak began&period;<&sol;span><&sol;h4>&NewLine;<p><img class&equals;"aligncenter wp-image-15097 size-full" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;thedailypage&period;ng&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2021&sol;12&sol;UNESCO-bemoans&period;jpeg" alt&equals;"UNESCO" width&equals;"678" height&equals;"452" &sol;><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">The UN said it had obliged all of its member states to support the Secretary-&&num;8216&semi;UNiTE General&&num;8217&semi;s to End Violence Against Women Campaign&comma;&&num;8217&semi; with the theme &&num;8220&semi;Orange the World&comma;&&num;8221&semi; which asks for global action to raise awareness&comma; activate advocacy efforts&comma; and share knowledge and ideas&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">Idowu Lateef Olagunju&comma; the Secretary-General of NATCOM-UNESCO&comma; expressed his worry on Friday in Abuja at the launch of Tabitha Cumi Foundation&&num;8217&semi;s Flash Actions On Girls Safety project&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">She emphasized the importance of combating the threat of violence against women and girls&comma; particularly in this epidemic moment&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"font-size&colon; 14pt&semi;">Violence&comma; she claimed&comma; was no longer an individual or cultural problem&comma; but rather a global one&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;
