Veteran Yoruba actress, Orisabunmi dies at 60
Veteran Yoruba actress, Folake Aremu popularly known as Orisabunmi has died at aged 60.
The Daily Page learnt that the Yoruba star actress died after a brief illness.
Her colleague, who is also a Nollywood actress, Fathia Balogun expressed her grief in a Facebook post this Wednesday morning, December 6th, 2021.
She wrote:
I still can’t believe you have gone. May your soul Rest In Peace IYA AAFIN FOLAKEMI AREMU A.K.A “ORISABUNMI”
Actress Orisabunmi whose real name is Folake Aremu was born October 10, 1960 in Ilu Ola, Kwara state.
She went to Ilu Ola Primary School for her primary school education.
As a Yoruba actress, she has starred in many Yoruba movies including Tani O, Ass Ilu, Atupa Imole.
David Adeleke, the Afrobeats performer known as Davido, said he is Igbo by blood. The singer shot back at someone who warned him about being friendly with Igbo people, saying he could worry about betrayal as a Yoruba man.
The X user, Yakbel, said: “Davido just dey carry Ibo full body, until when dem betray am before e rest. Yoruba boy dey frolick with Ibos in 2025, they want your head and everything you have to belong to them. You can never satisfy Ibos. Ibos are not people you surround yourself with as a Yoruba man.”
Davido overlooked the criticism and just replied:
“Lol. My ancestors are from the Igbo people.”
Nigerian online streamer, Habeeb Hamzat popularly known as Peller has revealed he convinced his girlfriend, Jarvis, to turn down a ₦3 billion offer from Netflix since it required her to kiss someone during the show.
Peller mentioned this during a livestream with Peter Okoye from P-Square.
Peller said, “Netflix offered 3 billion Naira my girlfriend, Jarvis to do a kissing scene, but I turned it down.”
Peter asked, “Do you mean N3 million or N3 billion?”
Peller replied, “N3 billion! I know you might not believe me, but I have the record of the video call. I warned them never to contemplate such ever again. I love my baby. I don’t joke with my baby. She is my life.”
Peter added, “Always look out for her.”

Nigerian actor, Charles Okocha has paid a heartwarming visit to legendary actor Kanayo Kanayo ahead of his upcoming wedding.
Charles visited Kanayo to bring his wedding invitation to him in person. In the video shared by Kanayo, Okocha described him as a man who influenced his acting career greatly and, therefore called him his family and role model.
