The Champions League match between Rangers and Napoli has been rescheduled for Wednesday, September 14 at 8 p.m.
Due to limitations in enforcement resources following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the game was originally planned to be played the day before but has been delayed.
“This is due to the severe limitations on policing resources and organisational challenges related to the ongoing events surrounding the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
“Rangers, of course, recognise this switch in date will inconvenience a number of our loyal supporters, and refunds will be available to those unable to attend the match,” a statement from Ranger said
Additionally, the club made it clear that there won’t be any Napoli supporters at the game, which will enable them to provide more tickets to spectators who want to watch Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s team.
To promote “sporting integrity,” the same will apply to the away game.
Rangers suffered a 4-0 defeat in their inaugural Champions League match away to Ajax at the Johan Cruyff Arena.
But in the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, Napoli defeated Liverpool 4-1.
