The Cullinan diamond also referred to as the ” star of Africa” was discoverd on January 25, 1905 at the premier mine at Pretoria, South Africa during an inspection by the mine’s superintendent.
The Cullinan diamond is the largest diamond ever found weighing an estimate of 3,106.75 carats.
The ” Star of Africa”, according to history was stolen from Africa, and pieces of the diamond was put on the Queens sovereign crown, royal scepter and other royal jewel collection.
The British government claimed that it was given to them as a symbol of Peace and friendship yet it was during COLONIALISM.
Interestingly, some Royal jewels are made from the world’s biggest diamond. The Cullinan diamond was used to make the Imperial State Crown and the sovereign’s Sceptre the queen wore at her coronation in 1953.
