Hadiza Shagari, wife to the former president of the republic of Nigeria, Sheu Shagari died at the age of eighty (80) after battling with COVID-19 complications. The news of her demise was announced by Muhammad Bala Shagari in a statement issued on behalf of the family on Thursday. In the statement, Hadiza died in the early hours of today, 12th August 2021, at about 3.00am, after battling COVID-19 at the Gwagwalada Isolation Centre in Abuja. And her Jana’iza (Funeral Prayer) will take place today, at 4.00pm, immediately after Asr prayer, at the National Mosque in Abuja.

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Adebayo Adeleke popularly known by his stage name B-red has taken to Instagram to narrate how he suffered. Emmanuel Omoregie, a student of the University of Benin, Ekehuan campus, has made a sculpture of Aisha Somtochukwu Yesufu, a Nigerian activist, business woman and co-founder of the #BringBackOurGirls. According to him, the sculpture was part of the requirements for the award of B.A Fine and Applied Arts.
