Despite Chelsea’s interest, Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has ruled out the prospect of selling defender Wesley Fofana.
Though they recently added Kalidou Koulibaly to their roster, Chelsea has been linked with a move to sign Fofana this summer.
Thomas Tuchel, the manager of Chelsea, tried to entice Matthijs de Ligt to Stamford Bridge, but the Dutch star chose to sign with Bayern Munich.
Additionally, Jules Kounde, who finally transferred from Sevilla to Barcelona, was not signed by Tuchel.
Chelsea is currently preparing deals for RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol and Fofana after returning to the drawing board.
When questioned about the rumors involving Fofana, Rodgers said that the 21-year-old center-back is not for sale.
“Naturally, he’s a top talent,” Rodgers was quoted by Metro UK as saying.
“He’s not for sale. He still has lots of improvements to make. He’s very happy here, he really enjoys being here.
“Naturally, he will attract the interest of other clubs. Our job, in not signing anyone so far, is to at least keep the players we have. I know that’s the intention of the club.”
