Champions League: Messi to face Real Madrid

Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos will team up against Real Madrid in what is regarded as the star match, as PSG has been drawn to face Los Blancos, Real Madrid in the last 16.

Despite the fact that Messi and Ramos have previously been on opposite sides, both players will be looking to propel PSG over Madrid and into the quarter-final stage.

In the previous draw, Real Madrid was pitted against Benfica, while PSG was pitted against Man United.

Atletico Madrid will now face Manchester United rather than Bayern Munich, while Villarreal will face Juventus rather than Manchester City, which should satisfy Samuel Chukwueze and his colleagues.

Atletico Madrid and Villarreal will play their first games at home, followed by Real Madrid’s second game at home.

Liverpool will face Inter Milan in the knockout stages in the other pairings.

Jurgen Klopp’s team will play the first game away from home before returning to Anfield for the second leg.

If Liverpool makes it to the final, the game will be held on May 28, 2022, at Saint Petersburg’s Krestovsky Stadium.

The Reds will be seeking a repeat of their triumph in the event, which they last won in 2019 when they defeated Spurs in Madrid.

The only match that did not alter in the redraw was Chelsea’s match against Lille.

The first legs will be held on February 15/16 and February 22/23, with the second legs taking place on March 8/9 and March 15/16.

Enzo Maresca on Monday appointed as the new manager of the men’s team at Chelsea FC.

The West London Premier League team made this announcement on its website in a statement, saying, commencing July 1, 2024, Maresca will assume his new position. The Blues put the Italian under contract for five years.

After winning the Champions League, Kylian Mbappé is expected to be announced as a new signing by Real Madrid the following week.

In February, the 25-year-old international athlete made his choice. He can now be regarded as a new Real player because every document has been completed, sealed, and signed.

As per media reports, Kylian Mbappé joined Real Madrid from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer. “.. I wanted to announce to you all that it’s my last year at Paris Saint-Germain. I will not extend and the adventure will come to an end in a few weeks. I will play my last game as Parc des Princes on Sunday,” Mbappe said in a video statement on X.

“It’s a lot of emotions. (For) many years I had the chance and great honour to be a member of the biggest French club, one of the best in the world which allowed me to travel here,” Mbappe added.

“It’s hard and I never thought it would be this difficult to announce that I will leave the country, France, the league and the Championship. But I think, I needed this, a new challenge after seven years.”
