A Federal Court sitting in Abuja has on Wednesday dismissed a lawsuit challenging the Chukwuma Soludo winning Anambra state.
In a suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/711/2021, the plaintiffs, Adindu Valentine and Egwudike Chukwuebuka alleged that Soludo provided false information in the affidavit (Form EC9) that he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
For this reason, he should be disqualified as the governor-elect of Anambra State, the Adindu and Egwudike added.
However, Justice Taiwo Oladipupo Taiwo in his judgment, dismissed the lawsuit on grounds of being “frivolous”, “irritating”, “baseless”, and “lacking in merit”.
Also, Justice Taiwo awarded a sum of N2 million against the plaintiffs, Adindu Valentine and Egwudike Chukwuebuka in favour of APGA, Soludo and Ibezim.
