Family clears air on Rachel Oniga’s death allegedly caused by COVID-19
The family of late Nollywood actress, Rachel Oniga has debunked a report that the actress died of COVID-19 complications.
This was made known to the public in a Statement released by the family on Rachel Oniga’s Instagram page.
According to the family, Rachel Oniga died from a heart related issues, adding that she had battled with for a short period of time before her demise.
The statement reads in part, “With a heavy heart and total submission to God, we write to announce the passing unto glory of our beloved sister, mother, and grand mother, Chief Rachel Tabuno Oniga.
“She died in a Lagos hospital at the age of 64 on Friday 30th of July at about 10pm.
Contrary to diverse reports informing that she died from COVID-19 complications, we write to inform the general public that she died from a heart related issues, an ailments she battled with for a short period before her demise.”

David Adeleke, the Afrobeats performer known as Davido, said he is Igbo by blood. The singer shot back at someone who warned him about being friendly with Igbo people, saying he could worry about betrayal as a Yoruba man.
The X user, Yakbel, said: “Davido just dey carry Ibo full body, until when dem betray am before e rest. Yoruba boy dey frolick with Ibos in 2025, they want your head and everything you have to belong to them. You can never satisfy Ibos. Ibos are not people you surround yourself with as a Yoruba man.”
Davido overlooked the criticism and just replied:
“Lol. My ancestors are from the Igbo people.”
Nigerian online streamer, Habeeb Hamzat popularly known as Peller has revealed he convinced his girlfriend, Jarvis, to turn down a ₦3 billion offer from Netflix since it required her to kiss someone during the show.
Peller mentioned this during a livestream with Peter Okoye from P-Square.
Peller said, “Netflix offered 3 billion Naira my girlfriend, Jarvis to do a kissing scene, but I turned it down.”
Peter asked, “Do you mean N3 million or N3 billion?”
Peller replied, “N3 billion! I know you might not believe me, but I have the record of the video call. I warned them never to contemplate such ever again. I love my baby. I don’t joke with my baby. She is my life.”
Peter added, “Always look out for her.”

Nigerian actor, Charles Okocha has paid a heartwarming visit to legendary actor Kanayo Kanayo ahead of his upcoming wedding.
Charles visited Kanayo to bring his wedding invitation to him in person. In the video shared by Kanayo, Okocha described him as a man who influenced his acting career greatly and, therefore called him his family and role model.
