The Governor of Niger State, Abubakar Sani Bello, has denounced the attack on a mosque in Ba’ari town, Mashegu Local Government Area, and the consequent massacre of worshippers.

Gov Bello bemoans massacre in Niger State

He bemoaned the fact that certain persons have no regard for houses of religion, attacking and killing unwitting victims while praying.

Governor Bello expressed his condolences to the families of those deceased, and reaffirmed his commitment and unwavering efforts to combat the criminal actions of bandits in various sections of the state.

This was revealed in a statement released by Mary Noel-Berje, the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, and made available to reporters on Friday.

It is sad that certain people no longer respect the sanctity of life and places of religion to the point that they kill people while praying, Governor Bello said

My thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ families, he added.
