Callum Hudson-Odoi, a Chelsea midfielder, has surpassed Arjen Robben’s record of ten assists in the Premier League, becoming the club’s youngest player to do so.
Hudson-Odoi, 21, won a penalty in the first half of Chelsea’s 3-1 Boxing Day triumph over Aston Villa, giving him his 10th Premier League assist since his debut in January 2018.
At the age of 20, Robben joined Chelsea at the age of 20. Since he joined the club, he had nine assists in his first Premier League season before adding his tenth at the start of the 2005/2006 campaign.
Meanwhile, when Chelsea trounced Aston Villa at Villa Park, Thomas Tuchel was impressed with Hudson-Odoi.
Tuchel stated at his post-match press conference that he was never disappointed with his performance against Steven Gerrard’s team.
Tuchel acknowledged to taking a chance on Hudson-Odoi because he had only recently returned from Covid.
Meanwhile, he will be hoping to keep up his fine form for Chelsea when they face Brighton on Wednesday.
