A mother and her three children have been rescued from kidnappers in IMO state. The mother identified as Chinenye Odika ’27’ years and her children, Chika Mark ‘F’ 9 years, Chisom Mark ‘F’ 14 years and Princess Odika ‘F’ age: 6 months. These victims were kidnapped by unidentified gunmen in their estate on August 19.
This was immediately reported to the police by Obinna Odika, the husband and father of the victims. This information was immediately circulated to all police formation and tactical units to ensure the quick arrest of abductors.
On the same day the Ngor Okpala police division patrol team on receiving the report intensified their patrol and came across there members of a kidnappings gang, namely : Udochukwu Edmund ‘M’ 38 years, Uba Edmund ‘M’ 45 years and John Okoroafor ‘M’ 33 year. They were arrested and handed them over to the command’s anti-kidnappings unit for further investigation.
The men confessed to the crime and all took the police to their hideout in Ngor Okpala LGA of Imo state, when the police men arrived at the hideout, they were fired at and the police retaliated.
one of the kidnappers was shot dead and the other two were arrested with bullet injuries. When their hide out was searched, one pump action gun, three locally made pistols, fourteen round of live cartridge and three hundred and sixty one Naira and also a sea blue sienna vehicle was found.
