    Let’s take a moment to appreciate some iconic roles in the Nollywood movie industry.

    Nollywood a byname used to refer to the Nigerian Movie industry. The term Nollywood can be traced back to the early 2000’s to an article in The New York Times.

    Let’s take look at some of the iconic roles embodied by some of our favorite Nollywood actors. How can we forget Funke Akindele’s role in Jenifer and the return of Jenifer in 2008 and 2011.

    “My name is Jennifer” can we ever forget the scene where Jennifer wore pajamas with heels to school walking as confident as ever. 

    Aki and PawPaw

    The forever iconic duo Chinedu Ikedieze and Osita Iheme known popularly as Aki and Pawpaw from their incredible roles in Aki na Ukwa in 2003.

    And the song “dorcas is a queen oo is a queen oo” the lady who acted as an imbecile in the movie to their well amazing roles in 2 rats, Magic cap, cat and rat , reggae boys and many more interesting roles that made them who they are today.

    Nollywood has metamorphosed so much over the years that we cannot but appreciate these names for their amazing acting and the amazing movies they’ve given us over the years. 

    Amaechi Muonager, the strict father of Aki and pawpaw. Sam Loco Efe, forever remains in our hearts, Nkem Owo,the one and only Londoner; “Mr Trouble” Mr Ibu, Chiwetalu Agwu, Clem Ohameze, Patience Ozokwor, Charles Inojie, Bob- Manuel Udokwu, Sam Dede, Ramsey Nouah, Zack Orji, Kanayo O. Kanayo, Olu Jacobs, Pete Edochie, Jim Iyke, Mr Latin and Genevieve Nnaji.
