Members of the National Association of Nurses and Midwives have been instructed to participate in the nationwide strike that the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) have embarked upon.
The Daily Page reports that the nationwide strike organized by the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in protest of the proposed minimum wage increase for Nigerian workers began today, Monday, June 3rd.
This is contained in a statement titled, “Notice of indefinite nationwide strike” released on Monday morning. The statement reads, “We write to bring to the notice of the management that, we receive a directive from NANNM national to embark on NLC/TUC nationwide strike. Hence, we have directed our members to join the strike with effect from 10:00 am today. Attached is a copy of the NANNM National letter. Accept the assurance of our warmest regards.”
