Nigerian singer, Divine Ikubor popularly known as Rema has introduced a new genre of music called Afrorave, a subgenre of Afrobeat.
According to him, his music sound is now known to be Afrorave not the Indian kind.
He tweeted:” From this day my sound will be called “Afrorave” a sub-genre of Afrobeat, my Album seals this claim for good.”
In another tweet, the singer said his sound which all people called Indian is now what everyone sings now.
Tweeps reacting to the news, @JoeyAkan said “I know Rema has not forgiven Nigerians for not properly classifying his sound, and denigrating it with the ‘Indian’ talk.
“But he has to understand that he brought something new into the space, and we can only approximate it to what we can understand.
